www.colorlovers.com published some of the worlds most colourful and dramatic bank notes - it’s almost a pity that they sourced the notes before ours changed; I think we would definitely have made the cut with our bright Randelas!

Oh my quivering greatness.
I have a small obsession with paper art. I think it is so beautiful, and is such a versatile material. Would I be able to do it? Nope. I’m a clumsy oaf that will dirty, crumple, sit on and tear anything that even smells this delicate.
Jen Stark is a master of her craft - her meticulous craftsmanship and her apparent endless patience allows beautiful items like these to find a place in the world. Colorlovers.com very aptly describes her work as “an amusement park for the eyes.” Apparently “the recurring geometric patterns in each piece reflect many elements of life, including the passage and intervallic rhythm of time.” I can’t quite get that far - I just keep staring at it all, trying to absorb the awesomeness.
With the cycling trend taking the world by storm, more and more beautiful, custom bicycles are popping up. It’s really interesting to see how this phenomenon is changing how people view bicycles, and to see the different custom designs and ideas are reshaping something that was quite a lot more mundane not so long ago.
An example of that are these beautiful, environmentally friendly bamboo bicycles by Vancouver based Grass Frames. Love. Love love love. Friends… fans… followers… my birthday is in October. Just saying.
I luuuuuuurve jewellery. If my Pinterest boards are anything to go by, you could almost say I’m a bit obsessed. So spotting the work of Jeanie Andronyk “and her robot minions” (Check out her Facebook profile for more on that) was like being smacked in the face with the Pretty Shiny Things Bat. It was love at first sight.
Jeanie describes her work as “organic sci-fi” - “Merging the concept of woman and machine, Andronyk has set to work exploring the concept of the “Uncanny Valley”, where the lines between machine and human are blurred.”
And plus, it’s really, really pretty.

I think it’s time to concede that we don’t have enough hands or hours in the day to do everything that needs doing around here. Like a boss! We could use a little help.
We’re looking for someone to fill an intern position for a fixed period of three months, starting as soon as you’re able to.
The main thing you’ll be doing is blogging and helping run our various social media channels, with the occasional customer support and probably some shopping. So it’s a pretty cool position! But bear in mind that this an intern, and therefore a junior, position
This isn’t an in-office position - you’ll be working from your home (or coffee shops, or whatever floats your boat). If the right candidate isn’t in Cape Town where we are, that is ok.
