Hello Pretty is Winding Down

After more than ten fulfilling, magical years beginning in the good old days of 2012, Hello Pretty is retiring and heading off to the beach with a drink with a tiny umbrella.

Colour Palette- Blues

Navy, powder blue, periwinkle, baby blue and duck shell blue; there are so many different shades of blue. I think duck shell blue is my favourite, it literally goes with anything without being too overbearing. There are so many beautiful blue products on Hello Pretty and these are my favourite.

The twisted blue topaz ring from Secrets Unearthed, is beautiful. Who doesn’t like some statement jewellery?

This 60’s chair from Something Blue Living is great and a few of them around your dining room table will definitely add some character.

I love the blue glass seedbead necklace from Blossom Handmade, to add some colour to your outfit.

What’s not to love about the Rattan blue scatter cushion from Phlo Studio?

Something for the kids; Duke the Rhino from Sprouts Kids Co is just the best to cuddle with.

The Perfect Home Office With Hello Pretty

I think that everyone loves the idea of a home office; it’s your creative space that you can do anything you like in, because it’s in your home. Your workspace should be a calm, inviting and an inspiring place for you to be in every day.

As we spend most of our time working, why not make this place beautiful and fun too? Hello Pretty has wonderful products to make up the perfect home office.

In this chaotic world we all need a journal or notebook to keep our lives in order. The OCD part of me likes the idea that everything I need to know and do is on one book. Stockton Goods makes these beautiful notebooks, The Fogg- Lace and The Attenborough- Lace.

The Mini Jack lamp from The Artisan is modern, clean-cut and a great choice to brighten up your workspace on a cloudy day or when you are working late.

A beautiful vase, like Flying Solo from Sugar and Vice, will look great on your desk with some roses.

Last, but not least, you should always be comfortable sitting at your desk. The Lisbon scatter cushion from Phlo Studio, is great to lean against and it looks beautiful too!

Brighten Up Your Space with Art On Hello Pretty

A simple piece of art can really transform your space into something amazing. Whether it’s in your bedroom, office or lounge; putting up a piece of art is always a good idea.

There are so many art pieces to choose from all over the world, literally for any preference. Hello Pretty features some beautiful pieces, and here are my favourites.

The ‘Vlerksleep’ drawing from Janet Botes is beautiful, it’s simple and perfect if you are going for a neutral look.

Georgie by Mermaids & Monsters is perfect for a child’s room, what’s not to love about a cute, baby giraffe?

I love anything to do with flowers, so this beautiful Rose painting by Helga McLeod is ideal.

For something unique, I really like the Pangolin artwork by Adele van Heerden.

If you want to add a bit of colour, Through the windows and doors 3 by Berelowitz Paintings and Art Work, is a great choice.

Superfront- Making The Ordinary, Extraordinary.

If you have ever been in an Ikea, you’ll know how wonderful it is to get lost in there. Wouldn’t it be great to get that piece of furniture you wanted and to jazz it up a bit? Superfront has you covered!

The Swedish company designs and manufactures a range of products that fit Ikea’s common cabinets. This includes; legs, handles, fronts, tops and sides. They make their products from materials like marble, leather, copper, brass and birch.

Superfront has a great colour palette from which you can choose your new front. They also have really cool colour names like Lime Pie Yellow and Grannie Pink, so what’s not to like?

Their products, which can be used throughout the house, are really beautiful. Superfront gives you the opportunity to create your own unique furniture and brings out the designer in you.

African Fever

Even through the bad times, there are so many good things about our country that make us proud to be South Africans. Our country is diverse, has great weather, is extremely beautiful and we have some of the friendliest people. So let’s celebrate our country with a little African fever.

If you, like me, have friends and family living overseas, why not send them a little gift from home? Or if you are relocating to another country, take a little something from home with you.

This is perfect as a gift to yourself or to a friend; the I lost my heart in Africa necklace from Hallo Jane or these African cufflinks from Duke & Dutch, are small and light enough to fit into a travel bag.  This beautiful African ring from Thula is a great gift as well.  Now there’s no excuse that you have no space!

It’s always nice to bring a little bit of Africa into your home with subtle pieces. Nolene Huisamen makes this beautiful African wooden clock, which would look great in your kitchen. The Bushveld Studio has this amazing set of three canvas art prints, to bring the wild side out in you.
