After more than ten fulfilling, magical years beginning in the good old days of 2012, Hello Pretty is retiring and heading off to the beach with a drink with a tiny umbrella.

The Interior Design Trend That Brings You Closer to Nature: Moss Wall Art

I like the idea of incorporating nature into interior design, and there is a new trend that goes beyond just putting a few pot plants in your home. Moss wall art has become a thing, not only does it look cool but it’s eco-friendly and brings you a bit closer to nature.

Joe Zazzera and Pat Mahan are the founders of Plant Solutions and Moss Wall Art. They are behind the new interior design trend; incorporating moss walls into your home or office space. Their moss walls are made with 100% real mosses, natural wood, lichens and other organic features.

Each piece that they do is unique and handcrafted just for you, not only are they for indoors but can be used as décor outside, in a covered area as well. I can just picture a patio with a moss wall art and water feature, where you can go and relax with a glass of wine after a long day.

While the moss wall can create a zen feel, having a living piece of art in your home is exciting and dramatic too and definitely a trend I’d like to see more of!

Would you install a moss wall into your home?

Ring Bling With Hello Pretty

Jewellery is definitely a girl’s best friend and I love how wearing many rings is in fashion at the moment. Whether you like big chunky rings or small dainty rings, layer them up to give your look that extra something.

Seeing as though more is more in the jewellery world, you can shop for some cute rings without feeling too guilty! Hello Pretty has some amazing designers and I’ve found five rings that you should add to your collection.

This sterling silver ring from Rollin Vintage is simple but different enough to create a statement. I am loving rose gold at the moment, this rose gold plated diamond ring from WHYJewellery will make you stand out, you should treat yourself.  The resin ring from Sugarbird Jewellery Design is very unique; a dried Gaura Belleza has been set in resin and sterling silver.

The onyx stack ring from Meraki Jewellery Design is a great option for stacking your rings, just as its name suggests. The sterling silver cross-over ring from Muchi Galoosh would look great stacked with others as a midi ring or on its own.

My favourite is the resin ring from Sugarbird Jewellery, I love that it's something completely different!

Colour Palette- Reds

Summer is officially over in South Africa and we are swiftly moving into autumn. With this comes the colder weather, but also the beautiful autumn colours. I love when the trees' leaves start to change colour; I saw the most beautiful tree with red leaves the other day, and so this has inspired me to put together a red colour palette for today’s post.

This subtle red and white cushion from Kerry Cherry is perfect for the bedroom or lounge and gives just that pop of colour you want. The red seedbead necklace from Blossom Handmade will definitely make you stand out. I love the Veon bag, which comes in tomato red, from the Melo Unlimited Brand store.

The red printed passport cover from Creative Lines is bright enough for you not to lose your passport in your tomato red handbag while travelling. How cute are these egg potjies from Ranzani? What’s great about these is that you can use them for dip pots or to serve salt and pepper as well.

Clocks as Décor

It’s great when an object has more than one function. I think clocks are very underrated; their job is to tell the time but they also make great décor pieces. How the watch can be a fashion statement and a great accessory, the clock can be a beautiful piece to add to your home too. I’ve found some great clocks on Hello Pretty that will look good anywhere you put them.

I love this simple clock with a rim from MATWILDESIGN, which would look great in your study. The Hamba Wall clock is something different with the rope detail, from Louw Roets, which is perfect for a man cave. The blue and white together on this clock from Sasha Leon is beautiful and perfect for a sunny kitchen.

Hallo Jane makes the most amazing clocks, I adore the peacock style bamboo clock and the vintage roman bamboo clock, both of them would look great in your bedroom.

My favourite is the peacock style bamboo clock, I think it would make a great gift for someone special too!

Beautiful Edible Flowers In Lollipops

This week has been all about the sweet stuff that we all love and crave. I think edible flower lollipops are a great way to end off the week. The combination of sweets and flowers, which are two of my favourite things, is bound to be a winner. Janet Best, from the Sugar Bakers Bakery, is the creator of these beautiful lollipops and they are almost too pretty to eat.

The flowers, which are embedded into the lollipops, are grown indoors so that the bakers can make sure there are no toxins or bugs on them. They last pretty long too; once the flower petals are in the candy and if sealed properly, you can keep them for up to a year. I’m not sure about you, but mine definitely wouldn’t last a year.

There are a variety of flavours including; blueberry, cotton candy, key lime pie and banana. The flowers they use range from pansies, violets to lavender.

These really are something special, I love how Janet has incorporated nature into simple sweets to make them a unique and creative project.

Hello Pretty has these Gin & Tonic lollipops from the Lollipop League which are just as special and would make great wedding favours or gifts.
